Prioritizing Your Sexual Health with Confidence
Regular screening for Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) and Infections (STIs) is a vital aspect of responsible healthcare for any sexually active individual. Many STIs are asymptomatic, meaning they show no signs or symptoms, yet can cause serious long-term health complications if left untreated. Our comprehensive panel allows for early detection and treatment, protecting both your health and the health of your partners.
What’s Included? A Detailed Look at the 12 Key Tests
This panel screens for the most common and significant sexually transmitted infections using highly accurate testing methods.
This test detects antibodies to Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) types 1 and 2, the viruses that cause AIDS. Early detection is crucial for managing the virus with antiretroviral therapy (ART), which can lead to a long, healthy life and prevent transmission.
This panel includes tests for Hepatitis B Surface Antigen (HBsAg) and Anti-Hepatitis C Virus (Anti-HCV) antibodies. Both Hepatitis B and C are viral infections that attack the liver and can be transmitted sexually. Chronic infection can lead to serious conditions like cirrhosis and liver cancer, making early screening vital.
We use a two-tiered approach for accurate syphilis detection. The VDRL test is a non-specific screening test, while the TPAB/TPHA test confirms the presence of antibodies specific to the bacteria that causes syphilis. Syphilis is a bacterial infection that can cause serious long-term complications if not treated with antibiotics.
This test detects both IgM antibodies (indicating a recent or current infection) and IgG antibodies (indicating a past infection) to Chlamydia. Chlamydia is a very common bacterial STI that is often asymptomatic, especially in women, but can lead to infertility if left untreated.
This panel tests for both IgG and IgM antibodies for both HSV-1 (commonly associated with oral herpes) and HSV-2 (commonly associated with genital herpes). The presence of these antibodies can help determine a current or past exposure to the herpes virus, which is a lifelong infection.
